The Lone Oak Sunflower Farm and Corn Maze

38575 Ash Rd, Huron Charter Twp, MI 48164

The birth of Lone Oak Sunflower Farm and Corn Maze is a fascinating story of following your dreams.

“Welcome to The Lone Oak Sunflower Farm. The farm is owned and operated by Matt and April Bobby.
In 2014 Matt and April purchased the nearly 19 acre farm located in New Boston Michigan.
April has always had a dream of having a huge sunflower garden.

They purchased needed farm equipment, and together began working up the land.  They planted an estimated 1/2 million black oil sunflower seeds.  They only went with 1 flower for this first time planting, and hope to expand into several different types of flowers next year.
Despite a few hurdles, the sunflowers seem to be growing quite well.  The two decided they will open their farm to the public when the flowers start to bloom, estimated time to be July or August.
They are allowing visitors to cut their own sunflowers as well as ready cut sunflowers for those who do not wish to cut their own.”

  1. Nice site! Very informative and you have a great list of farms.
One you might want to add is HoneyBee U-pick in Ann Arbor, part of Tantre Farm in Chelsea.

    Reply
  2. One more place I almost forgot. Chambers Family farm in Pinckney. While not exclusively U-pick, they offer pumpkins, gourds, sweet corn (the best “commercial” corn in the county, if not the state!) and some other wares.
