Race Farm

87 Belcher Rd, Blairstown, NJ 07825

Race Farm is a fourth generation family farm, located in Blairstown NJ. We offer a large selection of pick your own fruits and vegetables, and a market/garden center.  It is a family run labor of love producing the finest local produce in the area.
 
Along with apple, peach, pear, plum and cherry orchards, they produce an abundance of blueberries, sweet corn, eggplant, beans, leafy greens and a variety of tomatoes including beautiful heirlooms!
 
The farm also presses their own fresh cider and with an onsite bakery, produces fresh cider donuts and other baked goods! In 2011 a small prepared food line was added to the farm. Jeanny Race makes homemade hummus, dressings, salads and soups, many of which utilize the farms fresh produce, and all our produced with the freshest, healthiest and highest quality ingredients available!
While Doug, Ryan and Carl can often be seen on the seat of a tractor, keeping the farm in tip top shape, the roadside market at 224 Rt. 94, is run by Devin.
 
She see’s to it that her grandparents legacy continues, and stocks it with the freshest produce, prepared foods, and a complete garden center with a huge variety of annuals, perennials, vegetable plants and every gardening supply imaginable. It is a charming and friendly place to shop!

Stonyfield Orchard

5 Orchard St, Belvidere, NJ 07823

Stonyfield Orchard are “family owned and operated orchard in Belvidere, NJ, where you can pick your own or have us pick it for you.  You can also purchase fresh goods from our farm store year ’round.  We are kid-friendly, with cows and other farm animals for the children to see.

Come to our Farm Store for freshly picked produce:  strawberries, sweet & sour cherries, peaches, apples, pumpkins, pears, tomatoes, potatoes, squash, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and herbs. Apples are available through the winter until April. Cider is pressed all winter long and is available through June.

We also carry eggs, cheeses, jellies and maple syrup, as well as Vermont cheese, preserves, relishes, salad dressings and more.

Sour cherries can be picked in June and July.

Terhune Orchards

330 Cold Soil Rd, Princeton, NJ 08540

Terhune Orchards have a farm store that is open all year.  They sell “fresh fruits, vegetables, homemade baked goods, local gourmet goodies, jams, and local honey. And don’t miss our own apple cider and apple cider donuts!”  They have their own vineyard and winery, with wines made from grapes grown at Terhune Orchards. 

They run a ‘Read and Pick’ program for kids.  “Read and Pick is a great way to introduce your young child to the fun of the farm. Read and Pick is an innovative program that combines hands on experience on the farm with an educational program and listening to a story highlighting that activity.”  Check their website for the program schedule.

Terhune Orchards have cherry picking in June, sweet cherries can be picked in early June while tart cherries can be picked in late June. “Cherry season goes by fast. If you wait until “next weekend” to pick cherries, you may be too late. We have sweet and tart varieties. And, in June, toward the end of the month, picking will be “ready, set, go,” because the season is still “short and sweet.”

Battleview Orchards

Battleview Orchards is a “family owned and operated farm, located in Freehold, New Jersey, harvests locally grown fruits and invites the public to “Pick Your Own” New Jersey Strawberries, Sour Cherries, New Jersey Peaches, Nectarines, New Jersey Apples, and Pumpkins. Battleview Orchards is the oldest Pick Your Own orchard in New Jersey!

The Country Store is open all year. It features our own Fresh Pressed Cider and our famous Apple Cider Donuts, along with quality fresh fruits and vegetables. The Country Store has a full line of freshly baked pies, breads and baked goods.

Fruit and Vegetable Platters, Gift Baskets, and a large variety of gourmet items are available. Try our family recipes or join us at one of our Seasonal Events.”

The approximate dates (check with Battleview before you travel) for sour cherry picking are: June 16th through June 25th.

Johnson’s Corner Farm

Johnson’s Corner Farm grow lots of different produce. 

They also run family friendly tours and hay-rides – “on the Regular Summer Tour hay-riders will get to pick 2 crops from our summer selection. 

All tours include a hayride, use of our picnic area, animal feeding and play time in the Animal Farm, coloring sheets and teacher information. There is also a restroom facility for group use.”  They also have a family activity area: “Our Discovery Barnyard & Animal Farm are fabulous places to bring your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews for a hands-on farm experience!
