Bella Alpacas Farm Sanctuary

155 Squash Hollow Rd, New Milford, CT 06776

At Bella Alpacas Farm Sanctuary in New Milford they rescue, rehab and care for alpacas.

“Judy, Salvatore and Nico created a sanctuary for alpacas who needed a home and have cared for many. She uses herbal remedies for them and has created many of her herbals due to their needs.  She was given an alpaca (Solomon) that had mange (alpaca eczema) that was so severe he looked like his skin was peeling off and he had no fiber there. Judy spent a year trying to find the cure and eventually discovered the perfect mix of essential oils. Solomon was healed within 2 months. She then began using the spray on people who had eczema with exceptional results. Judy loves helping people and animals through herbs, diet, yoga and creating a healthy and happy mindset.”

Farm visits are available on request.

New England Alpacas

14 Bethke Rd, Killingworth, CT 06419

The owners at New England Alpacas are passionate about their animals and would love you to meet them.

“New England Alpacas is located in Killingworth, Connecticut, nestled in the beautiful Southern Connecticut River Valley area.

Raising alpacas since 1996, owners Lou and Melissa Ferrara along with their two children, Austin and Jesse, have proven that you can operate a small alpaca breeding business and be very successful. Our own herd consists of some of the finest quality full Peruvian and Peruvian/Bolivian huacaya crosses in the country. Dedicated to the success of other alpaca farms with lower numbers of alpacas, New England Alpacas has proudly formed an alpaca brokering cooperative with several other established, reputable, and honest breeders in the Northeast. The cooperative offers a wide range of Chilean, Bolivian, Peruvian, and American alpacas in a variety of colors from the nation’s top bloodlines. These alpacas for sale are all ARI registered and come with extensive guarantees. Check out our current alpaca sales list and alpaca pictures that are listed on this website. We only use AOBA (Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association) sales contracts. Having researched the camelid industry since 1988, we are able to offer perspective alpaca investors our extensive experience while assisting them in finding the alpacas that meet the goals of their business plan. We will help you find the alpacas you are looking for, not just sell you what we have. We have a sincere interest in the success of our customers…their success is our success!”

Chakana Sky Alpacas

36A Turkey Hill Rd, Chester, CT 06412

At Chakana Sky Alpacas they honor the history and heritage of the animals.

“Chakana Sky Alpacas is a place for raising alpacas that honors the heritage of the indigenous peoples and animals of the Andean region, exists in harmony with our native land and its wildlife and provides sanctuary to those in need.

The chakana cross has been interpreted by many as a symbol that maps the organizing principles and mythologies of ancient Incan culture. Alpacas and llamas were an essential part of this world. For this farm, it is a simple symbol of balance and connection of all things over time. With this in mind, our name was born one crisp Autumn day in 2015, looking across our hillside farm to a hawk riding the wind across the serene blue and white sky. Chakana Sky is that feeling.

We are a small farm, committed to responsible breeding and care of our alpacas to provide exceptional animals, fiber products and services that meet the needs of our customers and friends. Come join us on our journey!

Our farm started operations in 2016 with 3 fiber boys and 3 maiden females. We intend to grow the farm and maintain a herd of 12-15 huacaya alpacas, producing fiber, fiber products, and animals for sale. Composted manure too!”
