Villa del Sol is a “25 acre working cherry farm started by the Shafer family in 1999. We are located at the intersection of Elizabeth Lake Road and Godde Hill Road in the lovely Leona Valley, California. Just 1 hour northeast of Los Angeles, take the Palmdale Boulevard Exit off of the 14 Freeway and head west! Villa del Sol is the “first cherry stop” on the right.
When is the cherry season?
Although each season is unique, Leona Valley cherries are generally available from the end of May through early July–if we are lucky. Cherry picking season is a very short season and the trees only produce once per year.”

JL Farms U-Pick Cherries – “As the oldest family-owned cherry orchard in Littlerock, we are proud to offer a variety of sweet cherries from mature trees. Amongst our 650 fruit trees, 50% are Rainier sweet cherries, and the rest make up of Lapin, Bing, and Brooks.
The trees are trimmed 7 to 9 feet so all the cherries are within easy reach from the ground. For children this is ideal and little ones love picking cherries. We usually have cherries for 5-6 weeks, but may be closed certain days, in order to allow more cherries to ripen. So please call (661-944-9903) or check the website before you come.”

Copeland’s Cherry Ranch – We usually open when the cherries are ripe in June. Please check back at the end of May for further updates. For now we are weeding, watering and doing our best to keep the squirrels, gophers and birds from this years’ crop!

Our honey is made by our beautiful worker bees. These girls live on site and collect nectar from the cherry blossoms and wildflowers throughout Leona Valley.
The honey is raw and delicious. Due to the large flight radius of our bees, we cannot certify it as organic.”
